The Hidden Lake 3D Screensaver

The Hidden Lake 3D is an animated screensaver for those who love nature and countryside landscapes. The screensaver shows a stunning scenery at the edge of a wonderfully rendered lake. It shows detailed designs of vegetation, with birds and butterflies flying around, and an impressive mountain in the background. The animations also reflect the subtle movements of water in a very realistic manner, and there is even a duck that swims peacefully across the lake. Probably the most interesting of the screensaver's features is that the scene changes from day to night in real time, allowing you to have a different view of the scenery as the time goes by.

The application has a set of options to configure, thus customizing the screensaver. For one thing, it has a tab through which you can choose the music you want to hear: you can either choose the default built-in playlist or create your own list with your favorite music in MP3, WAV, WMA, and MID formats, with shuffle and repeat options. On the other hand, you can set the screensaver exit conditions.

Most free screensavers usually require you to install toolbars and extra applications, which are in fact adware, in order for you to be able use the screensaver itself. But this one is different, since during the setup procedure, you will only be asked to optionally install a searchbar by Ask.com.
